Water Leaks

Update. SR Comments update: I responded to this address to investigate a reported water leak. Upon arrival, I observed contractors in the yard performing a jack-and-bore operation. I investigated the area and located the water leak. I then knocked on the door and spoke with the homeowner to determine what had occurred. The homeowner stated that the contractors had caused the leak.I spoke with the contractor, who showed me a video of him digging with a shovel when water began coming up from the ground. Based on what I observed, I do not believe the contractor caused the leak; it appears that the excavation may have exposed or disturbed an existing issue by loosening the soil.I explained to the homeowner that the leak is located on the property side and is not the responsibility of the City. The homeowner was advised to contact the company performing the work to address the issue and determine how they would proceed.
